Why choose the post-baccalaureate pre-med program at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½?

We work directly with students to give them exactly what they need both in coursework and experiences to be strong applicants. There is no need to repeat courses already completed or take extra courses that are not needed.

Located near Cleveland, Ohio – the heart of the nation’s top healthcare systems – ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ students have numerous opportunities to access volunteer, organizational, and clinical opportunities to build the credentials needed to become strong healthcare program applicants – as well as connect with ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ alumni that are healthcare providers in the area.

Personal attention is a program hallmark. Small class sizes are key. Caring faculty and staff help you stay on track in class and as you apply to medical and professional schools.

Students are well prepared for the interview portion of the application process for healthcare professional programs with the Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC). Through mock professional health school interviews, students receive feedback on their credentials, personal statements and interview skills. Additionally, a committee letter of recommendation will be sent to their target programs to help support their applications.

In addition to the standard pre-med required courses, many other options are offered to help boost your understanding of practicing medicine in today’s global community: Poverty and Disease and Epidemiology; Primary Health Preparation (taught by a physician); Healthcare Professionals: Clinical Decision Making, Ethics, and Justice (taught by a biomedical ethicist); and Survey of Health Professions (career advice from a variety of healthcare professionals).

The Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate Program students have the opportunity to get tutoring assistance with graduate teaching assistants in biology and mathematics.

MCAT preparatory classes are available on campus each spring sponsored by the Pre-Health Professions honor society. The Writing Center on campus is available for preparing for the written parts of the MCAT exam.
