Jurell Sison, assistant director of Campus Ministry, is the driving force behind the project. He worked with several campus leaders to clearly define the installation as an “Interactive Gratitude Mural.” Sison hopes the art inspires students and strengthens the identity of ۿ۴ý. “We want to bring the creativity of the Cleveland art scene here to the ۿ۴ý campus,” he says.
Quine is also drawing inspiration from the project. She can relate to the pressure of student life; she graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in graphic design. “I know firsthand that students process a lot of stress, and if they see this mural and it makes them stop and take a breath, that’s the entire goal behind this project,” she says. Quine expects to complete the mural in the next two weeks and says it will feature an interactive component for students.
