Research Interests

Dr. Young studied environmental effects on academic achievement as well as cognitive styles, IQ and academic achievement for her graduate work at Case Western Reserve University. Her academic career is dedicated to issues surrounding social justice and social activism.  Her continued areas of interest are cognition/intelligence and academic achievement in childhood and adolescence children, with a specific focus on minority children, with a current area of focus gifted African-American children.
