Fr. Angelo Munduni Dema ’19G applies what he learned in the Nonprofit Administration program as the Executive Director of Radio Kwizera (RK), a Jesuit radio station. Each day, Fr. Dema oversees a station which broadcasts to over eight million people in the Great Lakes Region of Africa.

Munduni chose to study at ۿ۴ý for the broad course selection. During his time in the program, Munduni took courses in economics, accounting for nonprofits, business ethics, strategic planning, leadership, and governance.

These courses prepared him for financial analysis and decision making, execution of strategic plans, organizational leadership and awareness of emotional intelligence in the workplace. He and his classmates also heard from nonprofit leaders in Cleveland, which allowed them to make connections while also aligning course content with real practice.

I am thankful for the opportunity to study within the nonprofit program at ۿ۴ý. Dani Robbins holds both the professional and academic aspects of the program to a very high standard.

In his position with Radio Kwizera, Munduni provides leadership and administrative oversight. He promotes the mission of the Tanzania-based station, which is to empower their audience with values, knowledge, and skills for a “peaceful and prosperous life.” Munduni ensures that daily transactions are accomplished, and that the monthly financial statements are accurate. Munduni is also responsible for budgeting, fundraising, and resource mobilization schemes.

I see my current position as a big nonprofit laboratory. The knowledge and skills I acquired from the nonprofit program have become real. I am using it to build a better organizational culture that promotes collaborative and servant leadership, transparency, accountability, inclusiveness. I also feel more confident in making financial decisions.
