The Office of Academic Advising and Student Services will help you to:

  • Develop partnerships with faculty advisors to discuss your academic goals and personal success.
  • Obtain up-to-date and accurate information for academic policies and procedures and plans of study leading to graduation.
  • Find appropriate support and enrichment services on our campus.
  • Utilize campus technology to prepare you for your faculty advisor meetings.
  • Navigate and adjust to the University environment.

Your assigned faculty advisor will assist you with your academic questions, plans, and progress throughout your college career. You will have many opportunities to meet with faculty advisors throughout your academic career. When you are ready to decide on a major, you will be assigned to an advisor in your academic program.

Additionally, the database of “mentors” is a unique offering, exclusive to ۿ۴ý students, which provides direct access to alumni profiles and is intended to foster meaningful connections that will inspire, encourage and provide ongoing support to you throughout your journey.

Biology Tutors 

The Learning Commons is a collaborative learning center in our library that offers free tutoring and peer-led study tables, résumé help, study skill workshops, and a variety of other fun and interactive programs to support your academic and career development.

One-on-one Consulting Services

The ۿ۴ý Writing Center offers free, one-on-one consulting services to all members of the ۿ۴ý community: students, faculty, staff, and alumni. To schedule an appointment for the O’Malley Center location (room 207), call 216.397.4529, email writingcenter@jcu.edu, or stop in to sign up.

Professional Development

Science majors are invited to professional development workshops for cover letters, resume writing, and more.

All workshops will be held in Dolan 202/203 during the spring semester unless noted otherwise. .
