Director Philip Metres founded the Young Writers Workshop (YWW) in 2010 because he believed that high school writers needed:

  1. Mentorship from established writers
  2. A place to meet other young writers. Mentorship and community provide the kindling for the young writer’s fiery desire to write great stories and poems.

All the alums of the YWW have proved him right!

Dr. Metres is the author of eleven books, including ¹ó³Ü²µ¾±³Ù¾±±¹±ð/¸é±ð´Ú³Ü²µ±ðÌý(2024)Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌýThe Sound of ListeningÌý(2018).ÌýHis work has garnered fellowships from the Guggenheim and Lannon Foundations, the National Endowment of the Arts, and others.
