Thank you for your interest in becoming a Streak Week Guide for the incoming class of 2028!Ìý

During Streak Week, Streak Week Guides will help to make our first-year students’ transitions from home to ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ as smooth and enjoyable as possible by facilitating small group meetings and leading various activities.

Please note that the Streak Week Guide is a volunteerÌýposition, with students being able to move into their rooms early free of charge, receiving multiple t-shirts, and having their meals covered during training and Streak Week.ÌýÌý

Please read the rest of the information below carefully before you complete an application. It is essential that SWAT Leaders are available during the dates and times listed below, so please consider your summer schedule when applying. It is especially important that you are available during the week of August 12, 2024, as this week includes a very brief, mandatory Streak Week Guide training and Streak Week (fall orientation).

STREAK WEEK GUIDE EXPECTATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Motivated, energetic, positive student who can positively represent ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½;
  • Enrolled full-time as a rising sophomore, junior, or senior;
  • Has spent a minimum of 2 semesters as a full-time student at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½;
  • Available to work the week of August 12 on all mandatory dates;
  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA before starting the role;
  • Active engagement in student activities around campus; and
  • Excellent communication skills.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Attendance

  • Attend and fully participate in a brief Streak Week Guide training on August 13; and
  • Be present at all designated Streak Week activities during the week of August 12, 2024.

Communication

  • Respond to all communications from your supervisor in an appropriate and timely fashion;Ìý
  • Respond to all communications from your assigned studentsÌýin an appropriate and timely fashion; and
  • Communicate professionally with incoming students as well as with ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ faculty and staff.

STREAK WEEK RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend a brief Streak Week Leader training August 13;
  • Attend Streak Week social events and activities from August 14 - 18;
  • Facilitate small group meetings for your assigned students;
  • Be available for your small group during breaks and free time periods;
  • Communicate updates and other information to your assigned students; and
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Student Engagement staff.

In exchange for your service, you would:

  • Be allowed to move-in to your residence hall room early (value of $20 per day);
  • Receive complimentary meals during training sessions and Streak Week before meal plans start; and
  • Receive three free t-shirts
