Fraternity and Sorority Life History at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½

Fraternities and sororities are values-based organizations that focus on the development of leadership, scholarship, brotherhood/sisterhood, service, and community among their members. Since the founding of the first fraternity in 1776, hundreds of Greek-lettered organizations have been established across college campuses in North America.

A vital part of the student experience at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ University, the fraternity and sorority community has existed since May 1939 when Alpha Sigma Nu, a national Jesuit honor fraternity, was established on campus. This rich tradition of excellence and service continues today with students involved in our two national fraternities and five national sororities.

Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) offers and coordinates a variety of programs, activities and services that are designed to ensure a quality educational and social experience for ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ fraternity and sorority members. Services and resources are provided to chapter officers, members and advisors in addition to the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils, Inter/National Headquarters representatives, alumni, community officials and the parents of fraternity and sorority members and potential members.

FSL Mission

¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ University’s fraternities and sororities strive to support the University mission by cultivating the development of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. By adhering to the Jesuit Catholic mission and heritage, fraternities and sororities will foster respect and integrity with the ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ community, Greater Cleveland, and the world.

Housing

A number of sororities call Sutowski Hall home. Each organization has it's own housing policy and live-on requirements.
