The Program

is located a short distance from the city center of the Westphalian metropolis of . The University of Dortmund was founded in 1962 and currently has a student population of 25,000 students and 2,000 faculty. The university offers a wide range of courses in many academic areas and is a regional leader of scientific research. While studying at Dortmund students will take classes along side of German students in German. Students are also offered an additional intensive German language course at no cost.

In addition, the Technical University of Dortmund is a member of the which also includes the University of Duisburg-Essen and the University of Bochum. ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ University students have the possibility of taking courses at all three universities, which are all within easy commuting distance via the S-Bahn (local trains).

Financial Aid

Students are able to apply all financial aid, with the exception of work study, to the program. Please consult the Office of Financial Aid for further details. For further outside funding, please consult the website (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) and our Scholarships and Funding page.

Note: Students will be invoiced from the Technical University of Dortmund for housing costs, German health insurance, rent deposit, and semester student fees.

The Technical University of Dortmund is self catering, i.e. students are responsible for their meals.
