Global Studies

Develop your understanding of international relations from a comparative perspective with courses that allow you to focus on a unique region or a plurality of areas from around the world. This concentration will prepare you for advanced study in comparative politics or international relations as well as for a government or private sector career dealing with foreign affairs. 

What Will You Study?

Majors in this concentration will enhance their understanding of how the global economy and political state powers influence one another. They will also have the opportunity to focus on one or various international areas of politics, such as that of the European Union, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.

The required course for majors in this concentration is Globalization and Economic Development.

Electives for this concentration includes Healthcare Access in Latin America, Islam and Politics, Global Debt and Justice, Politics of the European Union, Comparative Health Policy, U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East, African Politics, International Conflict and Security, Nationalism and Citizenship, and many others.
