In Spring 2021 the University Committee on Administrative Policies approved the . The Records Retention Policy requires that University records be retained for the amount of time prescribed in each department’s or division’s retention schedule. Each department or division should have an official (or draft) record retention schedule at this point. Published schedules can be found on the shared drive, some schedules are still going through the approval process but should be followed for the time being. If your area has not submitted a record retention schedule, or you’re unsure, please contact moconnor@jcu.edu for more information.Ìý

You are also welcome to bring your personal records from home to be shredded on May 21.

Additionally, on May 21 ITS will be collecting your personal and ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ e-waste.

  • Televisions – older tube model, projection, consoles
  • Household appliances
  • Paint or oil
  • Medical electronics
  • Mercury containing items – thermostats, etc.
  • Ballasts
  • Light bulbs
  • Smoke detectors
  • Freon containing appliances

*CRT monitor drop off will incur a recycling fee.

Each bin has a lock to prevent people from gaining access to the documents inside, the bins are located in offices around campus with people present during work hours, after work hours the bins are secured in the locked offices.

You can contact Lisa Brown in the Purchasing Office to arrange to have a shredding bin located in your office long term. There is a fee associated with this service.Ìý
